A continuation of the June 8 th monthly meeting and the Public Budget Hearing was held on June 14, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Commissioner Ricky Sneed, Commissioner Mike Williford

Public Comment:
J.E. Henthorn with the Stovall Fire Dept. requested an increase in funding for the Fire Dept.
Glenn Hughes stated that he was opposed to the increase in Commissioner’s Pay.
Allen Nelson asked about the debt forgiveness in the budget.
Fire Department Increased Funding: Commissioner Williford made the Board aware that an increase of $400.00 had
been added to the budget for the Fire Department.
Commissioner’s Pay: Commissioner Lunsford asked for a comparison of commissioner’s pay in last year’s budget and
the proposed budget. Commissioner Williford stated that last year’s budget included $8,400.00 for commissioner’s pay,
and the proposed budget includes $22,300.00 for commissioner’s pay. Commissioner Hughes stated that he would
rather see that money used for the Fire Dept. or the Police Dept. rather than on commissioner’s pay.
Approval of Proposed Budgets: Commissioner Williford made a motion to accept and approve the proposed budget as
submitted. Commissioner Carl Roberts seconded the motion. Commissioner Ricky Sneed voted yes. Commissioner
Hughes and Commissioner Lunsford voted against. With a vote of 3-2, the 2021-2022 budgets were approved with the
Water Fund having a total of $267, 607.00, and the General Fund having a total of $292,037.00. The tax rate remains at
$0.49 per $100 valuation.
Adjournment: There being no further business, Commissioner Sneed made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Commissioner Williford seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
