December 2020 Meeting Minutes

The regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Commissioners was held on December 8, 2020 at the Stovall Town Hall at 6:00 pm Mayor Janet C. Parrott present and presiding Board Members Present: Commissioner Dale Hughes, Commissioner Doug Lunsford Jr., Commissioner Carl Roberts, Commissioner Ricky Sneed, Commissioner Mike Williford Clerk Present: Sandra B. Williford Police Chief: Absent Water Report: Commissioner Doug Lunsford Jr. reported that the amount of water unaccounted for was 10.4% for the month. Flushing for TTHM’s was considered. He reported a leak on Oak St. that will be repaired soon. Tractor Repair: Commissioner Doug Lunsford Jr. stated that the tractor needed some repairs. He made a motion that the repairs be done. Commissioner Dale Hughes seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Stevie Inscoe: Stevie Inscoe, Town Water (ORC) Operator of Responsible Charge, notified the Town in writing that he could no longer work for the Town as an employee. He proposed working as an independent contractor as he is starting his own business, SVI Water Consultant. He will pay his own taxes and no longer be covered by workman’s comp. with the Town. His monthly fee will be $500.00 and any call backs will be $65.00 per call back/hour. Commissioner Mike Williford made a motion to hire Stevie Inscoe as an independent contractor as of January 1st, 2021 at a rate of $500.00 per month. Commissioner Ricky Sneed seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Two Questions: Commissioner Carl Roberts asked what was going to be done to clean up the community. He also asked if someone could have goats. After some discussion, it was decided that these issues had already been addressed. Adjournment: There being no further business, Commissioner Dale Hughes made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
