The regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and the Board of Commissioners was held at the Stovall Town Hall on February 8, 2022 at 6:00 pm

Board Members Present: Commissioner Doug Lunsford, Commissioner Carl Roberts, and Commissioner Ricky Sneed
Absent: Commissioner Dale Hughes
Town Administrator Present: Janet Parrott
Police Chief Present: Craig Williams
Clerk Present: Sandra B. Williford
Mayor Williford called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance
Invocation: Commissioner Sneed followed with an opening prayer
Audit Report: Dean Overby with WL Stark reviewed the audit report with the Board, and he reported no wrong findings. The Board accepted the audit report as submitted.
Minutes: Commissioner Lunsford made a motion to approve and accept the January 2022 minutes as submitted. Commissioner Sneed seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Police Report: Chief Williams gave a monthly activity report for the department. Activity was as follows:
• 301 miles of patrol
• 4 reports
• 2 citations
Water Report: Commissioner Lunsford reported a 14.9 % loss for the month.
Trucks on Streets: Commissioner Sneed expressed the need to keep heavy trucks off of Town streets. He made a motion to adopt and approve the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE 2022-02
Commercial Tractor-Trailers
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF STOVALL, NORTH CAROLINA THAT:
It shall be unlawful for any individual to operate a commercial tractor-trailer on any city street which is not maintained by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Violation of the Ordinance shall constitute a Class 3 Misdemeanor and shall be punishable as provided for in the North Carolina General Statures.
This ordinance shall be effective immediately and from and after this date of adoption, this the 8th day of February 2022.

Commissioner Roberts seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
