Continuation Meeting from March 12, 2024
The Stovall Mayor and Board of Commissioners held a continuation meeting was held on March 26, 2024, 6:00 p.m., Town Hall 107 Main Street, North Carolina.

Public Hearing to rezone the property at 301 Oxford Street and 303 Main Street from RA to CC.
Mayor Williford announced that on March 12, 2024 the regular meeting was held and the meeting was continued until tonight in order to hold a public hearing on rezoning the land at 301 Oxford Street and 303 Main Street from RA Residential/Agricultural to CC. Mayor Williford ask Zoning Administrator to certify that proper notices were sent to adjourning land owners, posting of land, and advertisement in the Oxford Public Ledger. Administrator Parrott certified that the proper notices had been sent and published as required. It was noted by a letter from Zoning Chairman Allen Nelson that this request was recommended by the planning board with all voting in support of request.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stovall and seconded by Commissioner Sneed that the public hearing be opened for comments. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Williford recognized Gerald Koinis, representing Granville County. Attorney Koinis spoke to the board and public reviewing the request concerning the change request. Attorney Koinis briefed the board that the Granville County was petitioning to rezone the property located at 301 Oxford Street and 303 Main Street be rezoned from Residential/Agricultural to Central Commercial by making an amendment to the Stovall Zoning Map.
Commissioner Stovall stated his support for the change.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stovall and seconded by Commissioner Lunsford that the public hearing be closed since there were no more comments. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stovall that the town altar the comprehensive plan to reflect this change and to approve changing of the property located at 301 Oxford Street to 303 Main Street from Residential/Agricultural to Central Commercial. Motion seconded by Commissioner Lunsford. Motion carried unanimously.
Scott Phillips gave an update on the project as of this date.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Commissioner Stovall and second by Commissioner Lunsford. Motion carried unanimously.
